The Community Builders (TCB) has purchased the property and is working towards transforming it into permanent housing for 99 Massachusetts seniors, as they move out of homelessness and into a safe, secure home where they can age in place. Supportive services will be provided by Pine Street Inn, connecting residents with healthcare and other community resources.
As of spring 2025, interior demolition has been completed, most of the mechanical rough-in work is finished, and drywall installation is in progress. The team is carefully selecting furniture for both the units and common areas. Additionally, we are working closely with an art consultant to curate artwork that will enhance the aesthetic of the building and collaborating with a signage specialist to develop effective and engaging interior signage that will guide residents and visitors throughout the space.
The 900 Morrissey site will be dedicated to urgently needed housing, not shelter. We commend the Healey Administration’s and City of Boston’s continued leadership on behalf of our most vulnerable neighbors.
